Nothing is more important to us than our beans and how they are cared for from the farmers crop, right up until your cup.
At Bar 9 we have teamed up with specialist boutique roaster, 5 Senses Coffee. 5 Senses bring with them a commitment to quality coffee that is unseen to date in South Australia. Our coffee is roasted to order and blended and aged on site. We simply won’t serve it until we are confident that it is tasting at it’s peak.
Two blends are offered on a day to day basis, Black Label and Barista’s Blend, along with the largest array of different brewing methods available in one cafe in South Australia.
Black Label: Colombian Caldano – Brazil Santa Antonio – Ethiopia Kochere
Esentially our house blend, Black Label is designed to deliver a familiar taste profile for the discerning Adelaide coffee drinker. Rich, body driven and smooth, while providing a second layer of complexity in the form of hints of spice and a lingering earthy finish.
Look for great body and soft flavours of darkened golden syrup. Some nuttiness with a well-rounded aftertaste and subtle spice.
Barista’s Blend: El Salvador Hondurita – Ethiopia Sidama Ardi
This is a constantly changing blend representing the style of espresso that we baristas are enjoying at the time. While there is no specific flavour profile we aim for, you can be guaranteed that it will usually be something big and interesting with bright flavours and a keen point of difference.
